Jenny becomes the first female to score points in BSB!

Jenny Tinmouth and her Two Wheel Racing British Superbike Team left the Snetterton 300 circuit ecstatic after gaining their first ever BSB Championship point. Jenny brought her Honda CBR1000RR home in 15th place in race two and was proud to become the first woman to score points in the British Superbike Championship in its 25 year history.

The team made steady progress over the weekends free practice sessions with an array of suspension settings to test and although initially frustrating the changes began to come to fruition when Jenny posted her fastest lap at the end of FP3. Further changes were made to the bike for Qualifying and Jenny once again set a faster time to qualify in 22nd place. With yet more changes to chassis set up implemented for morning warm up Jenny was able to improve her time once again and the team had high hopes for Race 1, but disappointment was to follow when Jenny slid off her machine at the slow Montreal turn early in the race. Determined to make amends in Race 2 and with potential points on the cards the team opted for a strategy to get the bike to the finish and Jenny brought her Honda CBR1000RR home in 15th place securing hers and the team's first point of the Championship.

Rider Jenny Tinmouth said; "It has been an extremely busy weekend, we unfortunately had to miss the official test here so our testing had to be done over the weekend and initially progress was slow so to have the DNF in Race 1, after we had finally made good progress with set up, was disappointing. But to then finish off the weekend in the points was fantastic! I am so pleased for myself and the team, we have all worked so hard and picking up a point means so much and is so significant. I have to say a massive thanks to Ryan Saxelby of RS Racing for all his help this weekend with all the changes we made to the bike and to all my sponsors, my team and everyone who has supported me, the amount of people cheering for me was amazing and I am so greatful for all the support. I'm really looking forward to the next round of the Championship now as we have managed to develop the bike a lot this weekend and it will be great to put our progress to further use at Brands. Getting our first point has spurred us all on and we hope to continue to have further success"

Crew Chief Steve Bradley said; "It was great to get a point in the second race we have worked so hard and it is a real credit to Jen. It has been on the cards this year and we have just been unlucky with one thing or another so to finally get there is superb. This will give the whole team confidence we can build on when we head to the next round of the championship."

The team will be back in action at Brands Hatch on the 19th-21st of July, you can see all the action live on British Eurosport.
